hello percussionists, i need to set a few rules and regulations. :)
SECTIONALS
- Practise properly and seriously.
- Take sectionals seriously
- Don't slack off
- Move instruments faster and more efficient.
- Practise till you get the piece perfect.
COMBINED
- Do not make unnecessary noise.
- Don't sit down unless you're on the drumset or, you don't have a part to play.
- Don't talk, conductor will get pissed. ( P.S That ain't good.)
- Play as if you're in a concert. In other words, play your best.
- Look at the conductor when you play, not your own timing. ( Pointing to Sec 1s)
- STFU and don't try to be funny.
- Listen to the tone of the band and play at the tempo and volume. (Mai spam like terrorist)
- If you think you're wrong, or absolutely positive, for pete's sake, don't hit the instrument already, its even worse if you whack the instrument at the wrong time, screwing the piece up.
GENERAL
- Obey your SL.
- No picking of your own score, only SL chooses.
- Like the piece or not, play it to your best, don't emo off.
WHY?
- After listening to other bands play and alumni seniors, we all think that percussion spoils the mood of the piece, by not taking everything seriously.
- We set out penalties for rebellion and even the SLs themselves will take the punishment, like a man. (If you're a girl then take it like a woman, common sense right?)
- We realize we're too lenient and we ourselves don't take things seriously. (Somebody's gotta' straighten the section am I right?)
- Most of all, Don't Worry, Be Happy!
PENALTIES
- 10 push-ups if you disobey the rules. (Further examples will be privately discussed within the section)
- (This penalty will be discussed between the section)
PERCUSSION OUTING
Okay, enough of the serious. Let's get fun! Because certain people in our section is unable to attend, we have previously decided to postpone this outing.
We have a suggestion that other members from other sections want to go out because they're BORED. okayokay, that ain't bad, who wanna go post there>>> and Kira will decide among the people the location and etc, and post the final decision on this blog.
We'll leave this Mixed outing to Kira to handle.
